Burlington's waterfront and downtown core anchor the city's premium market, with restored century homes and custom builds along the lakefront stretching west toward Aldershot. The inland communities of Millcroft, Alton Village, and Tyandaga serve the growing family market with newer detached homes at prices well below Oakville. Burlington's Appleby and Aldershot GO stations offer direct service to Union Station, making it a practical choice for buyers who commute while wanting more space than the eastern GTA provides.

Burlington offers a balance of small-city character and GTA connectivity, with a strong waterfront, a revitalized downtown, and a range of housing options at price points generally below Oakville to the east. It attracts buyers who want more space and community feel while maintaining access to Toronto and Hamilton.
Burlington's housing mix includes older detached homes near the waterfront and downtown core, newer suburban subdivisions in Alton Village, Millcroft, and Tyandaga, and a growing inventory of condominiums along Brant Street and near the GO stations. Character homes in the south end carry a premium for their architecture and proximity to the lake.
Burlington has two GO Transit stations on the Lakeshore West corridor, Appleby and Burlington, with service to Union Station. The QEW and Highway 407 provide road connections east to Toronto and west to Hamilton. Burlington Transit operates local routes within the city, and the city has invested in cycling infrastructure in its downtown and waterfront areas.
The south end near the waterfront and downtown Brant Street is popular for its walkability, dining scene, and access to Spencer Smith Park. Alton Village in the north end offers newer detached homes and is popular with families for its schools and community parks. Millcroft has an established character with mature trees and golf course proximity.
